Global base oils exports to the Mideast Gulf held firm in September as a pick-up in supplies from Europe balanced out a slowdown in shipments from Asia and the US.Total exports to UAE and Saudi Arabia combined came to more than 38,000t in September, government data showed.The supplies originated from US, Europe, and Asia.The volume fell from more than 41,000t in July and in August.Total exports of more than 120,000t to the region in the third quarter rose from less than 90,000t during the previous three months and from less than 96,000t during the same period last year.Total exports of 384,000t to the Mideast Gulf in the first nine months of the year were up by close to 50pc from less than 260,000t during the same period last year.The rise in supplies from Asia accounted for most of the increase.Exports from Europe were steady, even with the tighter availability in that market this year.Exports of close to 13,000t from Europe to the region in September were the highest in seven months.The volume got a boost from a rise in shipments from Spain and Italy..Global exports to Mideast Gulf rise in Aug
