Spore’s weekly base oils imports stay high

Singapore’s base oils imports rose over the past week to the highest in more than two months on the back of a surge in shipments from Taiwan.

Imports of more than 22,000t in the week to 10 May rose from an already-high volume of more than 20,000t the previous week, government data showed.

The volume was the highest since the beginning of March.

Imports got a boost from the arrival of more than 8,500t of supplies from Taiwan.

The weekly volume was higher than any monthly imports from Taiwan over the last five years.
