Iain Pocock

Lubricating oil demand in Latin America is set to rise in the second quarter from the first three months of the year before slowing in the third quarter.

Lube consumption is likely to rise to more than 560,000t in the second quarter, according to the Baseoilnews.com short-term outlook.

The firmer demand would be up from around 530,000t during the first three months of the year.

The volume consists of combined demand from six countries in the region.

Latin America’s lube demand edged up in 2022, contrasting with shrinking consumption in Europe and Asia-Pacific.
