Vietnam’s base oils imports held steady in June amid signs of a gradual revival in the country’s requirements of the lubricant feedstock.Base oils imports of more than 21,200t in June fell from 22,500t in May and by 11pc from year-earlier levels, provisional customs data showed.The June volume was still the second highest in nine months and lifted Vietnam’s total imports to 60,000t in the second quarter of the year.The volume rose from less than 50,000t in the first three months of the year and by 9pc from year-earlier levels.The year-on-year increase was the first in three quarters.Shipments from South Korea accounted for the largest share of Vietnam’s base oils imports in first-half 2023.
