Pakistan’s lubricating oil demand fell in March for the first time in three months amid a slump in consumption of industrial oils.

Lube demand of 12,150t in March fell from 13,610t the previous month and by 19pc from year-earlier levels, according to Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC).

Consumption of transport lubricants fell by 12pc in March from a year earlier, and industrial lubricants by 30pc.

Pakistan’s base oils supply fell sharply this year in response to the slowdown in domestic demand.
