Pakistan’s April base oils supply falls

Pakistan’s base oils supply fell in April for the third time in four months in the face of a sharp fall in demand.

Base oils supply, or production and imports combined, came to 31,930t in April, industry and customs data showed.

The volume was similar to March but down 33pc from year-earlier levels.

The slowdown cut total supply to 112,090t in the first four months of the year, down from 169,410t during the same period last year.

The volume was even lower than during the first four months of 2020, when Covid-related restrictions slowed economic activity.
