Global base oils – week of April 10: Cargo flows

·        Singapore’s base oils imports rise last week to highest in five weeks on pick-up in shipments from South Korea and Japan.

·        Taiwan’s base oils exports so far in April remain much lower than same period in March and lower than same period in February.

·        Taiwan continues to export more light grades than heavy grades.

·        Large cargo from South Korea, likely of Group II base oils, sets off for North America in recent days.

·        Large 2H-March loading cargo from South Korea set to reach Panama in coming days; several more 2H March cargoes from South Korea set to reach Panama in 2H April. 

·        Cargo from China, likely of Group I base oils, reaches South Korea early this week.

·        Cargo from Egypt, likely of Group I base oils, sets off for India in recent days, set to arrive next week.

·        Small cargo from Bahrain, likely of Group III base oils, reaches Hamriyah in recent days.

·        Shipment sets off from Bahrain in recent days, heading towards southern Africa.

·        Large cargo from UAE, likely of Group III base oils, set to reach US Gulf coast this week.

·        Cargo loads from UAE in recent days, heading towards Suez Canal. Destination unclear.

·        Saudi Arabia’s March base oils exports show signs of extending rise to highest in almost a year.

·        Cargo from South Korea, likely of Group II base oils, set to reach Mideast Gulf in coming days.

·        Shipment follows arrival in Mideast Gulf of another cargo from South Korea last week.

·        Large cargo of Russian origin reached Turkey in past week after loading from Baltic region in 1H March.

·        Large cargo from northwest Europe set to reach Kenya this week. Shipment would be first in several months.
