UK's April base oils supply rises

The UK’s base oils supply rose to an eight-month high in April as a jump in domestic output outpaced a slowdown in imports.

Output of 33,010t in April rose from 20,110t the previous month to the highest since last November, government data showed.

Output surged even as the UK's total refined oil products and middle distillates output fell from March.

The UK's base oils imports of 26,290t in April fell from 30,860t in March to a four-month low amid a dip in supplies from Belgium.

The country's total supply of 59,200t in April rose from 50,970t the previous month to the highest since last August.

The UK's base oils supply has typically lagged a seasonal rise in domestic and overseas demand in the month of April.
