The UK’s base oils and lube output fell to a four-month low in January, contrasting with rising production in other markets like Netherlands and Italy.

Output of 17,900t in January fell from 21,350t the previous month to the lowest since September, government data showed.

The UK’s base oils output averaged around 24,000 t/month last year and more than 28,000 t/month in 2021.

The fall in base oils output contrasted with a rise in the UK’s middle distillates production in January.
