The UK’s base oils exports to Africa rose to a multi-year high in March, clearing more supplies from the European market.Exports of more than 25,000t to outlets in Africa in March accounted for more than 70pc of the UK’s total shipments of 34,820t. The share is typically less than 50pc.The rise in shipments also cut the share of supplies to European markets to less than 22pc of the total.
