Exports of premium-grade base oils from the Spanish port of Cartagena rebounded to a four-month high in July following the completion of plant maintenance work in June.

Base oils exports of around 73,000t in July exceeded shipments of less than 60,000t in May and June combined, port data showed.

Exports from Cartagena averaged around 45,000 t/month in 2022.

The fall in exports in May and June coincided with the shutdown of a Group III base oils unit for scheduled maintenance work.
