Base oils shipments from the Saudi Arabian ports of Yanbu and Jeddah fell to an eight-month low in May amid a dip in supplies from Yanbu.

Base oils shipments of less than 45,000t from the two ports combined fell from more than 60,000t the previous month, shipping data showed.

The April volume had been the highest in a year and included a larger-than-usual flow of shipments to more distant markets like Europe and southeast Asia.

The May shipments were mostly bound for Mideast Gulf and India, with almost no supplies moving to other outlets.

Shipments from Jeddah held steady in May. Shipments from Yanbu fell to a four-month low.
