Global base oils exports to Egypt stayed lower than usual in August with Europe the source of almost all the country’s overseas supplies.Base oils exports of around 10,000t to Egypt in August rose from less than 9,000t the previous month, government and shipping data showed.Exports fell by 40pc and for a seventh month from year-earlier levels.The slowdown cut total shipments to Egypt to around 127,000t in the first eight months of the year.The volume fell 14pc from 147,500t during the same period in 2022 to the lowest in four years.Exports got a boost earlier this year and late last year from a wave of shipments from South Korea.
