Italy’s base oils output fell in June to the lowest in more than eight years, pointing to a heavier-than-usual round of plant maintenance work.Base oils output of 26,510t in June fell from more than 60,000t the previous month, government data showed.The volume was also lower than monthly output during the first four months of last year, when a Group I base oils unit was offline for extended maintenance work.The lowest output level during that period was in February 2022, when production fell to around 37,000t.The even lower base oils output in June this year suggested that additional plant maintenance work or refinery run-cuts may also have taken place during the month.Maintenance work at one plant extended through the third quarter of the year..Europe’s May base oils supply falls
