Germany’s lubricating oil supply fell for a thirteenth month in June, curbing blenders’ need to procure more feedstock base oils supplies.Total supply, or domestic lube production and imports combined, came to 141,160t in June, government data showed.The volume fell from close to 150,000t in May and by 19pc from year-earlier levels.The contraction cut total supply to 900,820t in the first half of the year, down 19pc from 1.11mn t during the same period last year.The pace of the contraction was amongst the fastest in Europe.Germany’s production of engine oils, gear oils and transformer oils fell by 14pc in June, and metalworking fluids by 23pc.Imports of metal-working fluids fell by more than 80pc in June, transformer oils by almost 70pc and hydraulic oils by close to 30pc..Germany’s June lube demand falls.Base Oil News stories and analysis also available on ICIS platform
