Thailand’s base oils output stayed lower in October, coinciding with a drop in supply from Japan.

Base oils output of close to 52,000 kilolitres (46,000t) in October edged up from 51,000kl the previous month, government data showed.

It remained below typical levels of more than 56,000 kl/month in the first eight months of the year.

Thailand’s base oils imports fell in October for a fourth month, cutting further the country’s supplies.

Base oils output stayed lower in October even amid a rebound in Asia Group I base oils values versus regional diesel prices.

The lower output also coincided with a drop in Japan’s base oils output and exports in October following the closure of a Group I plant in the country.
