Thailand’s base oils exports to China rose to a thirteen-month high in February, covering a pick-up in demand for Group I bright stock.

Base oils exports of 11,100 kilolitres (9,800t) to China in February rose from 9,760kl the previous month, government data showed.

The January volume was already the highest in a year.

There were signs of a slowdown in shipments from Thailand to China in March.

Thailand is a key source of bright stock for China, which is structurally short of the heavy-grade product.
