Thai Oil lube unit’s Aug output falls

Thai Oil’s base oils unit saw output slip to a six-month low in August even as its domestic sales rebounded.

Thai Lube’s base oils output of around 19,400 kilolitres (17,200t) in August fell from close to 21,000kl the previous month, government data showed.

The lower output contrasted with a rise in the unit’s base oils sales to a five-month high of more than 4,200kl.

Thai Lube’s base oils exports also rose in August to the highest in more than a year as it also moved supplies to India.

The lower output and higher demand cut Thai Lube’s base oils surplus to the smallest level in more than a year.
