Taiwan’s June base oils exports to SE Asia rise

Taiwan’s base oils exports to southeast Asia rose to a five-month high in June as a wave of cargoes were diverted away from China.

Exports of 13,130t to southeast Asia in June rose from an already-high 12,790t the previous month, government data showed.

The rise in shipments lifted total exports to the region to more than 58,000t in the first half of the year.

The volume rose from 52,000t during the same period last year to a record high.

The June exports included a surge in shipments to Indonesia to a seven-month high of 6,620t.

Exports to India also held firm in June at close to 9,000t.
