South Korea’s base oils exports to northeast Asia fell in June as shipments to China slid to a five-month low, countering steadier flows to Japan.Total exports of 84,220t to northeast Asia in June fell from 93,860t in May, government data showed.The volume was the lowest in five months. The contraction was smaller than the drop in South Korea’s total exports to a three-year low.Exports of 54,710t to China in June fell from 68,710t the previous month and from more than 74,000t in April.The slowdown added to signs of a recovery in Chinese demand that was more muted than expected.Exports of 24,810t to Japan in June rose from 19,370t the previous month and by 8pc from year-earlier levels.The steadier exports to Japan coincided with signs of improving lube demand in the country..S Korea’s June base oils exports fall
