South Korea’s base oils exports to China stayed low in September even as they edged up to a four-month high.Base oils exports of 45,900t in September rose from around 41,000t the previous month and 25,000t in July, government data showed.Total exports of 112,000t in the third quarter of the year fell 43pc from 197,100t during the previous quarter to the lowest quarterly level in more than a decade.The volume was down from 126,300t during the third quarter of last year, when China’s zero-Covid policy was still in effect.Exports edged up in September from the previous month ahead of a seasonal pick-up in China’s lube demand from the end of the third quarter.The size of the increase in exports, and China’s still-low domestic base oils output, pointed to expectations of a relatively muted pick-up in demand..S Korea’s Sept base oils exports rise
