S Korea’s March base oils exports to Nigeria surge

South Korea’s base oils exports to Nigeria rose to a record-high in March after its February shipments had also risen to a record high.

Exports of 12,510t to Nigeria in March rose from 4,000t the previous month, government data showed.

There had been no cargo shipments to Nigeria before February, reflecting the rarity of the subsequent surge in supplies.

Europe, Russia and the US have typically been key sources of supplies for Nigeria.

The shipments from South Korea provide an additional source of supplies for Nigeria and of competition for its more regular suppliers.
