Singapore’s base oils exports fell over the past week as a slowdown in shipments to southeast Asian markets like Vietnam countered a sustained pick-up in flows to China.

Total exports of less than 32,000t in the week to November 29 fell from around 37,000t the previous week, government data showed.

Total shipments of close to 150,000t over the past four weeks were down from 168,000t in the month of October.

The lower four-week volume partly reflected a drop in shipments to India to less than 20,000t.

The volume contrasted with exports of more than 32,000t to the country in September and in October.

Shipments of more than 43,000t to China over the last four weeks were up from an already-high 38,400t in the month of October.

Singapore’s base oils imports stayed lower than usual over the past week even with a rise in shipments from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Total imports of less than 40,000t over the last four weeks were down from more than 63,000t in September and in October.
