Spore's March exports to SE Asia fall

Singapore’s base oils exports to southeast Asia fell in March even as the island-state’s total shipments surged.

The extra volumes moved to China instead.

Exports of 65,050t to southeast Asia in March fell from 70,280t the previous month, government data showed.

Exports fell mostly because of a drop in shipments to Indonesia.

Exports still rose from year-earlier levels.

Shipments of more than 190,400t in the first quarter also rose from the final quarter of last year and from year-earlier levels.

The firm volumes highlighted Singapore’s ability to cover simultaneously the growing requirements in southeast Asia along with reviving Chinese demand.
