Japan’s base oils and lube output fell to a twelve-month low in February amid a dip in refinery run-rates.

Output of 169,290 kilolitres (149,960t) in February fell from 191,060kl the previous month, government data showed.

The January volume had been the lowest since February 2022. The February volume was even lower.

Output slowed even ahead of base oils plant maintenance in Japan over the coming months.
