Indonesia Base Oil Trade Flows – Oct 2025 (In Brief)

·         Group III base oils exports dip to a four-month low → following a fire at Dumai refinery that disrupted production.

·         Group III base oils exports to Europe pause for the first time in eight months → coinciding with a slowdown in shipments from Spain in Oct-Nov 2025.

·         Group III base oils exports to Europe resume in Nov 2025 → the cargo is expected to reach Netherlands in H2 Jan 2026.  

Exports to Europe pause

·         Group I base oils exports fall to an eight-month low → helping avoid adding to surplus supplies in the regional market.

·         Total base oils imports drop to a seven-month low → shipments from Singapore fall even after the start-up of a new unit in the island-state in Sept 2025.

·         Imports from South Korea rise to a twenty-one month high → temporarily stalling Singapore’s surging share of Indonesia’s imports market.

·         Imports from Singapore likely recover in Nov 2025  → as its exports to Indonesia rebound.
