US paraffinic base oils output rose to a six-month high in January amid a pick-up in production in the Texas Gulf coast refining district.Total paraffinic base oils output of 4.17mn bl (587,000t) in January rose from 3.89mn bl the previous month, according to the EIA.Output rose as production in the Texas Gulf coast district rose to a seven-month high of 1.71mn bl.Its output rebounded strongly after falling to less than 980,000bl in October.The higher output countered relatively lower production of 1.42mn bl in the Louisiana Gulf coast region in January.
