US base oils demand rose in September as higher export volumes countered an ongoing slowdown in domestic consumption.Domestic base oils and lube demand of 2.42mn bl (341,000t) in September fell by 16pc and for the third time in four months from year-earlier levels, according to the EIA.The contraction cut total consumption to 24.57mn bl in the first nine months of the year.
