US base oils exports to Latin America rose to record-high levels in July amid a sustained pick-up in shipments to two of the region’s largest markets.Total exports to Latin America, excluding Mexico, rose to 640,000bl (90,000t) in July, government data showed.The volume rose from an already-high 598,000bl in June to the highest in at least eight years.The rise in shipments for a fourth month from year-earlier levels lifted total exports to 3.64mn bl in the first seven months of the year.The volume was up 5pc from 3.46mn bl during the same period last year.Exports rose this year despite a dip in shipments to markets like Chile, Peru and Colombia.Shipments instead rose on the back of a surge in exports to Argentina and Brazil.Just those two markets accounted for 57pc of the US’ total exports to Latin America in July and a 61pc share in the first seven months of the year.The share was up from 50pc of total exports in the first seven months of last year..US’ July base oils exports rise.US’ July base oils exports to Brazil rise
