Mexico’s lube demand fell for a fourth month in August amid a sustained dip in consumption of automobile lubricants.Lube consumption of 54,000 kilolitres (47,900t) in August fell by 6pc from year-earlier levels, government data showed.Consumption of 453,240kl in the first eight months of the year still exceeded year-earlier levels of 449,940kl.But lube consumption of 194,650kl in the four months to end-August was down 7pc from year-earlier levels.Lube consumption fell even amid strong automobile sales and firm economic activity so far this year.Demand slowed because of a 15pc fall in automobile lube consumption over the last four months.
