Thailand’s lubricating oil demand fell in May for the eighth time in nine months amid a sustained slowdown in consumption of lubricants involved in the industrial sector.Lube demand of 37,500 kilolitres (33,220t) in May rose from 32,370kl the previous month amid a seasonal boost in consumption, government data showed.Demand fell by 18pc from 45,750kl during the same period last year.The slowdown cut Thailand’s total lube consumption to 193,390kl during the first five months of the year. The volume was down 10pc from 214,760kl during the same period last year.Consumption of passenger-car motor oils fell by 2pc in May from year-earlier levels.
