India’s Group II base oils imports rose to an eleven-month high in June mostly because of a jump in shipments of mid-viscosity-grade supplies from the US.Total Group II base oils imports of more than 95,000t in June rose from less than 75,000t the previous month, provisional customs data showed.Imports of light-grade base oils got a boost from a rise in shipments from the Mideast Gulf, US and Taiwan.The volumes outweighed a slowdown in supplies from South Korea and especially Singapore, whose shipments fell to a nine-month low.Imports of heavy-grade base oils rose mostly because of a pick-up in shipments from South Korea.Imports of mid-viscosity grades surged following the delivery of more than 17,000t of the product from the US. The volume was the highest from the US in well over a year.
