India’s base oils supply recovered in October as domestic output rose to a four-month high.Base oils production of 124,000t in October rose from a fourteen-month low of 96,000t in September, government data showed.The lower output in September coincided with some scheduled plant maintenance work.Output rose by 11pc in October and for the eleventh time in twelve months from year-earlier levels.The rise in supply lifted total production to a record-high 1.31mn t in the first ten months of the year, up 27pc from 1.03mn t during the same period last year.Output is set to extend that rise over the coming year as new production capacity in India starts up over the coming months.Higher domestic base oils output raised the prospect of cutting India’s requirements for overseas supplies.India’s imports of 2.81mn t in the first ten months of the year were down more than 10pc from 3.21mn t during the same period last year.Higher domestic output lifted India’s total supply, or domestic output and imports combined, to more than 400,000t in October.The volume rose from a seven-month low of less than 375,000t in September..India’s Oct base oils imports steady
