Taiwan April exports to SE Asia/India dip

Taiwan’s base oils exports to southeast Asia fell in April, adding to signs of tighter availability in the region.

Exports to India also fell in April as buyers in that market secured more supplies from other markets like US.

Taiwan’s base oils exports of 5,540t to southeast Asia in April fell from 7,240t in March, government data showed. The volume was the lowest in six months.

The drop in shipments to Indonesia was especially steep.

Taiwan’s exports of 6,070t to India in April fell from more than 19,000t the previous month.

The March volume had been the highest in more than three years.

The April volume was down from typical levels of more than 10,000 t/month over the past year.
