South Korea’s base oils exports to the Americas stayed lower than usual in July amid a sustained slowdown in Group III shipments to the US.Exports to Latin America rose amid signs of a pick-up in arbitrage shipments.Base oils exports of 51,900t to the US in July rose from a twenty-seven month low of less than 35,000t in June, government data showed.The July volume was the second-lowest in the last nine months.The slowdown cut total shipments to the US to 404,000t in the first seven months of the year, down 17pc from 485,600t during the same period last year.The slowdown in shipments showed signs of extending into August.Base oils exports of 5,120t to Latin America in July were the highest in three months.
