South Korea’s base oils exports to southeast Asia fell to a three-month low in July, but the size of the drop was smaller than to other major outlets like China and India.Base oils exports of 71,530t to southeast Asia in July fell from close to 77,000t the previous month, government data showed.The volume lagged typical levels of close to 79,000 t/month over the past year.But the size of the fall was smaller than the slump in South Korea’s total base oils exports in July to their lowest since first-half 2020.The divergence boosted the share of shipments bound for southeast Asia to 28pc of the total volume.
