Global base oils exports to Nigeria fell in October even with a pick-up in shipments from the US.Total exports of around 17,000t to Nigeria in October fell from more than 50,000t the previous month, government and shipping data showed.Exports of more 290,000t to the west African country in the first ten months of the year were up 30pc from 226,000t during the same period last year.Exports from Asia-Pacific and Saudi Arabia accounted for more than 10pc of that volume, up from almost no supplies the previous year. The rise in supplies from those other sources helped to counter a slowdown in shipments from the Baltic region. There were no shipments from those other sources in October.Supplies from Europe also slumped to less than 4,000t, from more than 25,000t in September. The outlier was the US. Its exports to Nigeria rebounded to more than 13,000t in October, following a pause in flows during the previous two months. There were signs of a subsequent slowdown in shipments from the US to Nigeria in November, as well as from Europe and from other regions. The lower volumes pointed to limited surplus supply in Europe at a time of year when the region often faces a build-up of surplus shipments. The slowdown raised the prospect of a steeper dip in shipments reaching Nigeria in December..Global exports to Nigeria rise in Sept
