Europe’s imports of premium-grade base oils from the Mideast Gulf fell in September amid a dip in supplies from the UAE.Total imports of 25,700t in September from the UAE and Bahrain combined fell from more than 36,000t the previous month, government data showed.The slowdown mostly reflected a dip in supplies from the UAE to less than 3,000t, from close to 14,000t in August.Including Qatar, Europe’s total base oils imports of more than 58,000t in September fell from close to 70,000t the previous month.The volume held above average imports of around 47,000 t/month over the past year.Imports of around 140,000t from the three countries in the third quarter of the year fell from more than 170,000t during the previous three months and from more than 190,000t in the third quarter of last year.The UAE and Bahrain are home to several major Group III base oils plants.
