Thailand refiner IRPC’s base oils unit saw output fall to a ten-month low in September even as its domestic sales and exports held firm.

The unit’s base oils output of around 23,800 kilolitres (21,000t) in September fell from more than 32,000kl the previous month, government data showed.

The volume was the lowest since November 2022, when the refiner’s base oils unit was offline for maintenance work.

The drop in output contrasted with a rise in its domestic base oils sales in September to a six-month high.

The unit’s base oils exports also held firm in September, with a swathe of its supplies moving to India and the UAE.

The drop in output and rise in demand slashed the refiner’s surplus supply to a seven-month low.
