Brazil’s February base oils imports fall

Brazil’s base oils imports fell to a ten-month low in February, coinciding with slowing domestic lube demand in the country.

Base oils imports of 56,350mᶟ (49,920t) in February fell from more than 64,000mᶟ in each of the previous nine months, government data showed.

The US is Brazil’s largest source of overseas base oils supplies.

Its share of Brazil’s imports was lower than usual in recent months as a swathe of shipments from Asia-Pacific and India moved to the South American country.
